OVERVIEW
The Procurement Assistant Vice President/Vice President will oversee all contracts and procurement policies and procedures at USSA. Working closely with Operations leadership and key stakeholders across the firm, this role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across all procurement functions. In this role, you will lead and manage the procurement team, ensure alignment and cohesion across procurement operations, and spearhead process improvements to meet both operational and corporate needs. You will also play a key role in mitigating third-party risk through active supplier management. The ideal candidate will bring strategic sourcing expertise, strong supplier relationship management skills, familiarity with financial services, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leadership and global corporate financial institutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Procurement Vision
- Set and drive the enterprise-wide procurement vision, ensuring alignment with USSA’s long-term strategic objectives.
- Champion procurement as a value-generating function, influencing executive leadership and shaping firmwide sourcing priorities.
Enterprise Contract & Procurement Governance
- Oversee all enterprise sourcing strategies and major commercial negotiations, including complex, high-value, and global agreements.
- Establish and enforce enterprise procurement governance, risk controls, and commercial standards across all business units.
Procurement Transformation (Ongoing Mandate)
- Lead a multi-year procurement transformation, streamlining the operating model, modernizing processes, enabling digital/AI procurement, and expanding capabilities.
- Drive adoption of new procurement technologies, CLM platforms, analytics tools, and automation to increase transparency, efficiency, and strategic impact.
- Establish KPIs and transformation scorecards to track progress, influence change management, and ensure measurable operational and financial improvements.
Supplier Strategy & Risk Leadership
- Serve as owner of supplier lifecycle management, including segmentation strategies, vendor performance governance, and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Oversee strategic supplier partnerships, fostering innovation, cost optimization, and operational resilience.
Financial Management & Value Creation
- Develop enterprise procurement financial strategy, including multi-year savings plans, spend forecasting, and budget governance.
- Drive strategic cost optimization initiatives across categories, improving total cost of ownership while safeguarding service quality.
Executive Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a senior advisor to executive leadership, providing insights on market trends, risk exposures, supplier stability, procurement best practices and commercial opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships across Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Risk, IT and global business affiliates.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and scale the procurement organization, building capabilities, succession pipelines, training programs, and performance management frameworks.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on strategic thinking, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 8-15 years of progressive experience in procurement, contract management, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Consensus builder with strong teamwork skills, demonstrated by leading cross-functional project teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Proven track record of managing contracts and vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with contract law and procurement regulations.
- Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The base pay range for this position is $160,000-$225,000. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
