Are you looking to leverage your experience in workplace strategy and design, while working at the agency responsible for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks? Come join our team at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)! We're seeking a Director, Workforce Strategy and Design Management Division of the Office of Administrative Services, the functions of which are outlined in Agency Administrative Order AOO-1. In this role, you will serve as Division Director of Workplace Strategy and Design Management, with broad authority and responsibility for organizing, directing, and evaluating the programs and activities of the Division.


Duties

The position is perfect for you if you:

  • Enjoy a position that plans, directs, and coordinates all facets of the program including the investigation, acquisition, preparation, utilization, and termination of space.
  • Are seeking a role that provides technical advice and assistance in establishing and implementing programs, plans, procedures, and financial reporting systems for managing, enforcing, and administering provisions contained in the GSA and USPTO leases for all USPTO-occupied buildings.
  • Would like to serve in a capacity that initiates actions to be taken in the event of disputes with building lessors as the result of the lessors' failure to deliver services, maintenance, and utilities required by the lease.
  • Enjoy serving in a role that acts as a second level supervisor over two branches, each supervised by a Branch Chief.

Qualifications

  • Experience serving as a senior leader responsible for a real property or facilities management program spanning multiple functional areas such as lease administration, space utilization, building operations, construction, and environmental compliance, with accountability for program-wide results.
  • Experience directing a program through subordinate supervisors with full responsibility for setting program policy, establishing long-range plans, and managing the program's budget and financial resources.
  • Experience representing the organization at senior levels in negotiations or high-stakes discussions with external stakeholders such as OMB, GSA, contractors, and senior agency leadership on major space and facilities matters.
  • Experience establishing space utilization metrics and conducting complex data analysis to guide executive leadership in strategic planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.


Education

Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.

Salary : $169,279 - $197,200
