Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC)
In this role you primarily deliver and collect packages along designated routes in suburban and rural areas. You may be required to provide your own personal vehicle to use for package and mail delivery. As an ARC you may be hired to provide mail and parcel delivery service on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (a weekend and holiday only position) or provide parcel delivery up to seven (7) days of the week. If you enjoy working outdoors, this may be a great fit for you.
Job duties include:
- Sort, lift and push moderate to heavy loads of mail and packages to prepare for delivery
- Deliver mail along your assigned route
- Pick up or collect mail from customers
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather: rain, snow, cold and heat
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to drive various types of vehicles.
- Familiarity with using GPS navigation systems
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, up to 70 pounds
- Good communication skills to interact with customers in a professional manner
