Job Summary
The Rural Carrier Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. This position requires a dedicated individual who is capable of managing various delivery tasks while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a high level of customer service. The Rural Carrier Associate will operate their own vehicle to transport mail along designated routes, ensuring that all deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to rural addresses using appropriate delivery vehicles.
- Operate vehicles safely, including vans, box trucks, and other commercial driving equipment.
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and postal regulations.
- Perform heavy lifting and moving of packages as required during deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues encountered during the route.
- Assist in loading and unloading mail from vehicles, ensuring proper handling of items.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with operational standards.
Experience
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for this position.
