Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Pittsfield, MA (Hybrid Schedule)
Job Summary
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize fabrication and production operations within a highly specialized manufacturing environment. This is a high-impact role focused on improving efficiency, reducing cycle times, and enhancing product quality across a range of processes including CNC laser cutting, bending, welding, grinding, industrial coatings, and final assembly.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods based on product design, materials, and equipment capabilities
- Drive process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across fabrication, coating, and assembly operations
- Analyze production performance metrics (including OEE) to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
- Design and implement tooling solutions, including fixtures, work holding, and inspection gauges
- Estimate production times, labor, and costs to support operational planning and decision-making
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective and preventative actions to improve product quality
- Manage multiple engineering projects, process improvements, and issue resolution efforts simultaneously
- Support engineering documentation including SolidWorks models, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment and execution
Qualifications
- 2 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience (4 years preferred)
- Strong background in fabrication processes including CNC plasma/laser cutting, welding, metal forming, and assembly
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, Kanban, Visual Management, and value stream mapping
- Proven ability to evaluate and justify capital equipment and process improvements
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software preferred
- Experience designing fixtures, work holding, and gauges is a strong plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
