PreOp/PACU/Circulator
Description:
We are seeking a motivated PreOp/PACU/Circulator to join our team at USPI Theda Oaks Gastro and Endoscopy. Our small but mighty team is dedicated to providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Operative Duties:
- Assess patients' health status in pre-op and ensure accuracy of identification wristband.
- Verify operative and informed consents are in order.
- Determine the surgeon and procedure being carried out.
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
- Initiate IVs and educate patients about the procedure and attending medical staff.
Post-Operative Duties:
- Assess patients' condition after surgery and ensure all vitals are within normal range.
- Log all findings in patients' files.
- Answer patients' questions and ensure they are kept comfortable.
- Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the doctor.
- Initiate patient education programs to educate patients and families on procedures and medications.
- Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies.
OR Circulating Duties:
- Assist with equipment and positioning patients.
- Act as a patient advocate and ensure patient safety at all times.
- Maintain the sterile field at all times.
- Exhibit skillful clinical judgment and assessment skills.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current Texas Nursing License.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum 2-year experience in a hospital setting or ASC setting.
- Experience in perioperative settings is preferred but not required, as we cross-train our staff.
Work Environment:
We operate Monday through Friday, 5:30 am - 6:30 pm, with varying hours based on patient flow. We have four treatment rooms and perform outpatient surgical procedures in gastroenterology and pain management.
