Arizona Specialty Hospital in Chandler Arizona is in need of a Pre-op/PACU PRN RN.
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Pre-op/PACU Manager and, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times reflecting the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital. The RN assists the physicians in the patient care areas with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
The RN is responsible for implementing the Pre-Surgical Checklist, the Post Anesthesia Care record, nursing care plan, the assimilation of the patient’s hospital record, and safe discharge or transition to the next appropriate level of care.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a hospital setting
- Critical Care experience preferred
- Current Arizona Nursing License
- Current BLS and ACLS and PALS required.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Good organization habits.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
- Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
- Ability to care for patients aged 3 to geriatric patients
- Excellent teaching skills
Language Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
