- Seeking at least one year of GI Technician experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to center’s policy and procedure.
- Efficiently and effectively assists physician with procedures.
- Anticipates physicians’ needs both in preparing for procedure and during procedure.
- Demonstrates ability to meet patients and family's learning needs as identified in the plan of care.
- Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues.
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
- Demonstrates proper cleaning and care of the endoscopy equipment
- Maintains adequate levels of inventory
- Demonstrates principles of aseptic techniques
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Certification in Endoscope reprocessing a plus
- One to three years previous experience in GI Lab a plus
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Manual dexterity to handle instruments quickly
- Must be conscientious, organized and able to handle the stress of a busy GI lab environment
- Must be able to function as a team player
- Possess the ability to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both written and verbal
