Job Description:
As a Certified Surgical Technician at Physician's Surgery Center of Chattanooga, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures. You will work alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support to our surgeons.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation.
- Sterilize and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients during surgery.
- Assist with patient transport and transfer to the recovery area.
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to provide excellent patient care.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Current BLS certification
- Previous experience as a Certified Scrub Technician in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Dedication to upholding the highest standards of patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
