Job Summary
Performs
a variety of tasks at the Circulation desk and will be expected to work in
other departments as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all cash register functions related to patron activities for overdue fines, lost item charges, or the sale of items available at the Circulation desk.
- Using library system, checks items in/out; prepares and organizes items to be shelved; returns items to shelves in proper order; maintains patron registration; receives and processes requests for book reserves and/or document delivery.
- Provides customer service to all library patrons; explains library policies and procedures; instructs patrons on the use of photocopiers and printers; provides routine information; refers patrons to librarian for reference assistance.
- Answers phone and provides general library information or refers callers as appropriate.
- Provides other duties as assigned.
