Job Summary
Community college-level student workers will work directly with professional RHCJC staff and university-level students on a variety of journalism-associated tasks. Work includes conducting high level background research on issues, setting up and conducting interviews, reviewing web stories for accuracy and clarity, and assisting to create digital-exclusive content. Community college-level student workers will also learn technology used by the center such as video cameras and digital content management systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather, collect and verify information for stories through interviews, observation and research for dissemination across platforms.
- Capture appropriate sound, video, still photos and other data and information types for the professional production of a variety of news products that will be delivered across platforms.
- Works closely with professional staff and university-level students on creation of RHCJC related media and projects.
- Assist with duties within the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
