seeking a full-time (nine-month), tenure-track appointment at the rank of
assistant professor in graphic design. Salary and benefits are competitive. Position begins August 1, 2026. Review

Job Summary
The Art and Design Program at the University
of Southern Mississippi seeks a talented graphic designer to teach all levels
of graphic design including, but not
limited to, layout, typography, branding, motion graphics, A. I. in design practices, and Web-based courses. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in graphic design along with the
ability to engage and mentor students at all skill levels and development. The
candidate must be able to teach introductory through advanced classes in
graphic design. Other courses may be instructed depending on program need. Additional duties will include advising, recruiting, committee work, and other service work as required by the program, school and university.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach a minimum 3-course load per semester and contribute to curriculum development.
- Advise and mentor students within the Graphic Design program.
- Maintain an active body of scholarly research/creative activities, as appropriate for a tenure-track candidate.
- Work effectively with the faculty in the program and school.
- Contribute to the mission of the university and the profession through active participation in service.
- Stay engaged with the wider field with regard to current developments.
- Perform other duties as
assigned.
