Job Summary
The School of Education at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) invites applicants for a tenure-track position beginning in August 2026 with requirements to be physically present on the Hattiesburg campus. We aim to recruit applicants who will emphasize training students to become reflective practitioners who use action research and data-driven inquiry to solve real-world challenges in education. This position emphasizes instructional excellence, mentorship of aspiring school and district leaders, and the application of improvement science and evidence-based strategies in P–12 systems. This position will primarily support the Specialist and Doctoral programs in Educational Administration. Courses include online delivery formats (synchronous and asynchronous). The successful candidate will bring practical experience and a proven record of transformational leadership as an educational leader. Qualified applicants will be prepared to contribute to the mission of the School of Education at the graduate level.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborating with colleagues on program development and assessment
- Engaging with community partner districts and schools.
- Teaching and mentoring students across programs.
- Contributing to the program and profession through service activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
