General Description: Manage the operational activities of the Emerson Rogers Region. Achieve profitability and ensure consistent service standards and professionalism as defined by our Best Practices and Core Values.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for management of operations team members. Includes performance management and approving timecards and expense reports.
- Participate, as needed, in interviewing, hiring, training, and development of operations staff.
- Lead departments in development and successful completion of individual and company goals.
- Coordinate with ER Finance/Commissions the operational support of NCS/Comet.
- Provide regular updates on operational performance. Take corrective action as necessary.
- Work with Operating Company managers to identify areas of improvement, create efficiencies, and improve margins.
- Manage staffing within our metrics and blueprint.
- Work with the COO and Regional Leadership Team to prepare the revenue and expense budget. Monitor the budget to ensure it meets management’s profit and growth goals.
- Manage operational integration of new acquisitions within the region.
- Provide technical expertise in coordinating the inside service of new and existing clients.
- Develop effective interdepartmental communication strategies. Foster team behavior and a sales-oriented department culture.
- Promote the vision and operational direction in support of corporate goals and objectives.
- Regularly review processes and data to encourage efficiencies and team member development.
- Support the use and integration of Emerson Rogers technology within the daily processes of all resource groups.
- Stay updated on industry and new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 10 years of experience in an employee benefits Insurance Agency with a comprehensive understanding of all employee benefits insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
- High School Graduate or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
- Prior managerial experience required. Ability to direct and monitor the activity of others.
- Must hold or obtain a Life and Disability insurance license within an agreed timeframe.
- In depth knowledge of agency management system functionality, workflow procedures, underwriting, sales, and service processes.
- Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate transactions.
- Ability to maintain relationships with clients, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
