Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician that will be responsible for maintaining plant cleanliness and operation of sanitation equipment and chemicals across our manufacturing facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for executing cleaning and sanitation procedures that meet industry standards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting our commitment to a healthy workplace. Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, quality, cost, SQF and GMP standards in a food manufacturing environment. Required to maintain food safety and quality while maintaining SQF.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for participation in the Quality Assurance Program and associated manuals/records
- Follow established protocols for environmental services to ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards
- Use of cleaning devices and/ or chemical agents to sanitize and clean production drains
- Handle waste disposal and hazardous material management in accordance with safety guidelines
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and safety checks
- Assist with special cleaning projects during production downtime or as needed to support operational efficiency
- Conduct fire extinguisher, pest control device, eye wash station/shower, including glass and brittle plastic inspections
- Ensure Sanitation Programs and SOP’s are followed to prevent microbial contamination.
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a food or beverage industry preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Strong understanding of environmental services best practices within manufacturing or hospital environments
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers and extractors safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required
