Human Resources Manager

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR operations of Usherwood, supporting approximately 170 employees located throughout the northeast. This role manages employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, performance management, and HR process improvement while partnering with company leadership to support organizational growth and culture.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead employee relations activities, including coaching managers, resolving employee concerns, conducting investigations, and supporting disciplinary actions.
• Manage recruitment efforts in partnership with hiring managers and external recruiting resources.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees.
• Administer employee benefits programs, leave requests, disability claims, and workers' accommodations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Manage performance review processes and support leadership with employee development initiatives.
• Maintain employee records, HRIS data integrity, and HR documentation.
• Coordinate employee communications, policy updates, and HR-related training programs.
• Prepare HR reports, workforce metrics, and leadership updates.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and company culture initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, HRIS management and benefits administration, a plus.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
• Solid experience working with ADP’s HRIS system preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification a plus.
