What You'll Do:

Deburring and Finishing: Remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from machined components to ensure a smooth, precise finish.

Precision Inspection: Work closely with the quality control team to inspect and verify finished parts meet industry and customer specifications.

Tool Handling: Use specialized tools such as deburring wheels, grinders, files, and hand tools to refine components with high precision.

Component Care: Safeguard parts, ensuring they are free of damage and prepared for the next phase of production or assembly.

Collaboration: Communicate with machinists and engineers to maintain product quality and resolve any production issues.

What You Bring:

Experience: Prior experience in deburring, finishing, or a similar role in a CNC machine shop, ideally within aerospace, automotive, or industrial gas turbine manufacturing.

Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach with a focus on quality, precision, and finishing.

Mechanical Skills: Strong hand-eye coordination and experience using a variety of deburring tools and equipment.

Knowledge of CNC Machining: Familiarity with CNC-machined components and a basic understanding of machining processes.

Team Player: Ability to collaborate with colleagues to ensure flawless production.

Requirements:

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provides technical expertise to prepare, clean, assemble, and test various production units to ensure full satisfaction of customers


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, check, and verify sub-parts needed for work orders and jobs; resolve any discrepancies
  • Prepare and clean product using various methods including water and compressed air
  • Use hand tools to remove burrs from machined parts
  • Clean product components using various methods: compressed air, water, deburring, etc.
  • Test assemblies at both in-process and final check points as per documented test procedures

SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:
Cleaning, Preparation, Assembly & Test

  • Follow specific written and oral instruction for product preparation
  • Proficiently produce simple and complex components to the highest standards
  • Assemble product correctly using wrenches, sockets, torque wrenches, and other hand tools
  • Apply thread sealants, seals, and lubricants as needed during assembly
  • Demonstrate proficiency in flow-bench programming and software
  • Input all build data and accurately voucher time and materials into the manufacturing software system
  • Assist the team in ensuring department production, efficiency, and safety goals are met

Quality Assurance – Inspection Preparation

  • Prepare product for dye penetrant testing; clean product afterward using water
  • Identify product by engraving serial numbers into unit per specifications
  • Promote and meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction
  • Meet production and quality performance metrics regularly and consistently
  • Organize, clean, and maintain area tools, and equipment daily
  • Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized
  • Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices
  • Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers
  • Willingly performs other duties as trained and able

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to receive and understand training by various methods: i.e., oral, written, on-the-job, computer-based, etc.

Proficient writing and speaking skills with ability to communicate professionally, objectively, and effectively

Sufficient ability to read, write, and speak in English and be understood; able to follow instructions

Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to be able to read and view paperwork, printouts, screens, etc.

Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate equipment as related to fulfilling assigned duties

Ability to uphold and comply with the company Mission, Safety and Quality Policies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job

Must be able to sit/stand continuously on a daily basis

Must be able to twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort

Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine operation of equipment

Physical activity: Sitting, walking, standing, typing, holding, grasping, etc. approximately 70% of time

Bending, reaching outwards and above shoulders, and lifting twenty pounds unassisted approximately 30% of time

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Job activities are generally performed in a lighted, temperature-controlled, and well-ventilated factory environment.

One will be exposed to changes in ambient temperature, noise, and dust without abnormal hazards or risks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
