Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Cardiovascular Technician located in Fort Belvoir, VA. The Cardiovascular Technician will assist in conducting diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures within the cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab). Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating specialized medical equipment, monitoring patient vitals during procedures, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and safety. Accurate documentation and compliance with all medical guidelines and protocols are integral aspects of the role.
Location: Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), Fort Belvoir, VA
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 6:30AM to 4:00PM On Call

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of cardiovascular and interventional training from at least one state or territory in the United States
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years catheterization laboratory work experience obtained after graduating
- Shall be proficient and function in but not limited to the following procedures: Left heart catheterization, Right heart catheterizations, Left ventricular gram, Percutaneous angioplasty, Percutaneous cardiac interventions, coronary stent placements, foreign body retrieval, Intravascular/cardiac ultrasound, Fractional flow reserve, coronary valve measurements, percutaneous cardiocentesis, cardioversion
Immunization Requirements
(Applicants must have or be willing to obtain the following)
- Hepatitis B (series and titer)
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- TB test
- Seasonal Influenza vaccine
- COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)
Strong understanding and experience in Cardiology and Cardiac Cath procedures
- Knowledge of Radiology techniques and processes used in cardiovascular diagnostics
- Hands-on experience in a Cath Lab setting, with familiarity with related equipment and protocols
- Background in Medicine and willingness to collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical team
- Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
- Accredited training or certification as a Cardiovascular Technician or in a related field is required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience in a military or federal medical environment is a plus
