About this role:
- Assist with On-Site Execution: Support setup and operations of hospitality venues, including access control, venue cleanliness, and logistical coordination.
- Communicate & Troubleshoot: Help manage internal and external communication - responding to client requests, problem-solving in real time, and ensuring a smooth event experience.
- Build Relationships: Represent the USGA with professionalism while engaging with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Learn & Develop: Gain exposure to event planning, client management, partnership activation, and multiple USGA departments involved in championship execution.
- Pitch In Where Needed: Support additional hospitality and operational tasks to ensure the success of the championship experience.
Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 – June 22, 2026
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr overtime
Where You'll Be: This position is located onsite at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
What you bring to the USGA:
- Undergrad students preferred
- Able to lift heavy items while practicing Safe Lifting and/or with the assistance of others
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time (12 hours)
- Strong organizational, planning, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to take initiative and effectively execute directions
- Collaborative, high energy, and spirited
- Creative thinker and problem-solver
- Interest in hospitality and service
