- Working safely is a top priority by adhering to the plant’s accident prevention policies. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical components within the manufacturing plant and other USG properties, including a quarry.
- Maintain, test and repair AC/DC motors and motor control systems.
- Develop skill set to troubleshoot advanced control system and instrumentation equipment including PLC controls.
- Interpret and use wiring schematics.
- Operate electrical test equipment inherent to the job.
- Know and understand NEC codes, become trained in NFPA-70E, and practice all other Industrial Electrician duties in a manufacturing environment.
- Participation in workplace organization and 5S Initiatives.
- Willingness to support and/or participate on continuous improvement projects.
- Preferred experience with PLC and motor controls.
- Must have the desired technical skills to work safely and proficiently as an electrician in a manufacturing plant setting.
- Possess basic mechanical maintenance skills.
- Ability to interpret and perform tasks as detailed on printed work orders.
- Basic computer skills needed to complete safety training and review work-related email.
- Ability to operate equipment as needed, including forklifts, etc.
- Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them.
- Good collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be willing and available to take occasional after-hour callouts as part of on-call rotation.
- Willing and able to work in various hot, cold, and dusty environments.
- May be scheduled overtime as needed.
- This position is primarily dayshift hours but may occasionally be scheduled other than dayshift as needed to support plant operations.
