Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dispatcher and Customer Service Representative to join our team! In this vital role, you will coordinate transportation activities, manage freight shipments, and deliver exceptional customer service. Pay: $22.00 - $25.00/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Major Responsibilities:
- Various office and administrative duties, which may include handling accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, maintaining database and miscellaneous reporting
- Audit of logs and trip reports and other DOT reporting, maintain of files, customer service interaction, resolution of driver equipment requests and driver & load tracking.
- Maintenance and distribution of routes, daily interface with drivers, assist with driver coverage of vacation and overflow freight
- Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, scheduling pickups/deliveries, and managing logistics flow.
- Support fleet management activities by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining positive communication throughout the delivery process.
Skills:
- Strong analysis skills to interpret GPS data, mapping tools, and transportation analytics for effective dispatching.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems
- Knowledge of supply chain logistics, transportation planning, freight operations, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly via phone and written correspondence.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to multitask efficiently using multi-line phone systems while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in transportation, distribution, or logistics operations
- Experience with route management or route optimization software preferred
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, including hours of service, is a plus
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
