Dispatcher

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dispatcher and Customer Service Representative to join our team! In this vital role, you will coordinate transportation activities, manage freight shipments, and deliver exceptional customer service. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth communication between drivers, clients, and internal teams, helping us meet operational goals efficiently. Pay: $22.00 - $25.00/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Major Responsibilities:

• Various office and administrative duties, which may include handling accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, maintaining database and miscellaneous reporting
• Audit of logs and trip reports and other DOT reporting, maintain of files, customer service interaction, resolution of driver equipment requests and driver & load tracking.
• Maintenance and distribution of routes, daily interface with drivers, assist with driver coverage of vacation and overflow freight
• Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements
• Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, scheduling pickups/deliveries, and managing logistics flow.
• Support fleet management activities by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining positive communication throughout the delivery process.

Skills:

• Strong analysis skills to interpret GPS data, mapping tools, and transportation analytics for effective dispatching.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems
• Knowledge of supply chain logistics, transportation planning, freight operations, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly via phone and written correspondence.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and warehouse operations.
• Ability to multitask efficiently using multi-line phone systems while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in transportation, distribution, or logistics operations
• Experience with route management or route optimization software preferred
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, including hours of service, is a plus
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
