What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Development Representative position at usecure?
Location: Miami, FL (office-based role)
Reports to: Sales Manager (North America)
Team: 3x Account Managers & 2x Sales Development Representatives
About usecure
At usecure, we're transforming how organisations manage human cyber risk. Our fast-growing SaaS platform helps businesses automate security awareness training, run real-world phishing simulations, and simplify compliance — building a stronger security culture for customers around the world.
We're a UK-based, investment-backed company with an established global presence, including a growing footprint in North America (NAM) built through our channel partners. By focusing on the MSP channel and SMB market, we've built a distinct, defensible position in cyber security. We're now taking the next step: building our first office-based US sales team to accelerate that growth.
The Opportunity
We're looking for motivated, dynamic Sales Development Representatives to help accelerate our growth in NAM. You'll be the first point of contact for potential clients — engaging inbound leads and key target accounts, qualifying opportunities, and booking product demos for our Account Managers to take from there. There is real scope to shape how we build pipeline as the region grows.
You'll act as the front door to usecure for your prospects: reaching out with speed and personalisation, building rapport, and uncovering the pain points that make a great fit for our platform. You'll work closely with Account Managers, who'll take your qualified meetings and run with them, so you can focus on generating high-quality pipeline at volume. If you thrive on persistence, enjoy the challenge of turning cold outreach into real conversations, and want to help accelerate usecure’s growth in a key strategic territory, this role is the ideal opportunity for you.
What You’ll Do
Customer & Deal Profile
- MSP and SMB (<250 employees), with some engagement with Midmarket prospects (<1000 employees)
- Sales cycles are short (typically <6 weeks), meaning volume is the key to growth. Your focus is to increase our deal velocity through high quality outreach.
- Initial core target: ~30 qualified demos sat per month.
Inbound Lead Conversion
- Engage with high-intent inbound leads from marketing campaigns and website conversions.
- Set the tone for their usecure engagement with rapid, personalised outreach. You’ll display urgency, persistence and personalisation with all touchpoints.
- Build rapport with prospects, understand their challenges, and position usecure as the ideal solution.
Outbound Prospecting
- Exhibit a data-led approach to identifying key prospects who meet our ICP, proactively increasing pipeline.
- Utilise multi-channel approaches (phone, email, LinkedIn) to generate interest and engage prospects.
- Demonstrate persistence and resilience to catalyse usecure’s growth in-territory.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Account Managers to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified leads for further engagement and closing.
- Generate upsell opportunities with existing clients.
- Feed back internally to help further develop understanding of our standing in the market and opportunities for differentiation.
What You’ll Bring
Must haves
Prior sales experience is a bonus, not an expectation. We’re looking for the traits below:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage, persuade and influence decision-makers.
- A customer-centric mindset with the ability to listen actively and understand client needs, fully qualifying their requirements before progressing them through the sales cycle.
- Resilience in handling objections and rejection, with a positive attitude and persistence to overcome challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple leads and prioritise effectively, displaying a process-driven approach that allows refinement and scale.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the cyber security and MSP / Reseller market.
- Experience in a Sales Development / Business Development role.
Why usecure?
- Start your sales career the right way: learn a proven, structured sales process from day one, with hands-on coaching built into how we work.
- Room to grow: this SDR role is the entry point to usecure's NAM sales org: successful SDRs either specialise and move into Senior roles, or progress into an Account Manager role as the team scales.
- Sell a proven product: thousands of organisations already use usecure worldwide, so you're opening doors for something people actually want to buy.
- Be a founding voice: as one of the early NAM hires, your feedback shapes how we sell, not just what we sell.
