This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of analytical, research, report writing, and editing tasks on environmental subjects in support of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).Qualifications:Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
FOR THE GS-09 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:
OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
TRANSCRIPTS are required if:
FOR THE GS-09 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:
- Producing scientific documentation-including Environmental Reports, Environmental Assessments, Biological Assessments, and pesticide, chemical, or wildlife analyses-with sections accepted by senior reviewers and incorporated into final submissions.
- Applying environmental policies, laws, regulations, and statutes while completing assigned project tasks, ensuring all documents met compliance standards and passed internal quality checks.
- Researching and analyzing scientific and regulatory information; selecting material for communication products that improved clarity, accuracy, and reviewer approval rates.
OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
