Job Summary
If selected, you will be responsible for performing a variety of preventative and repair work to assigned facilities and equipment. 5 vacancies are available for Edinburg, TX. 2 vacancies can be filled in either Rock Tavern, NY or Miami, FL.
Qualifications
To qualify, you must show that you have had training and experience of sufficient scope and quality to provide you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Your answers to the vacancy specific questions must be supported by the work experience in your resume. For example, if you respond in the affirmative when questioned whether you have experience performing maintenance work, your resume must include this experience, mindful that experience may not be inferred by job title. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Major Duties
The duties may include, but are not limited to:Install, preventively maintain, and repair industrial equipment.Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the water supply system.Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the Laboratory's air conditioning and ventilation systems, steam generation and sterilization system, and wastewater sterilization system.Performs preventive maintenance of buildings, which includes carpentry, painting, flushing sewer lines, roof repair, maintenance of electrical and system controls.Recognizes the need for periodic repairs, estimates materials required to make repairs, and helps plan and implement an ongoing program of modifications and alterations to accommodate changing needs and regulations.Assists in the ordering and purchasing of supplies and materials needed for repairs.
