Position Summary
Holton USD 336 is seeking a dedicated High School Mathematics Teacher who is committed to strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous and engaging mathematics instruction while supporting students in developing strong problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned with district priorities and Kansas academic standardsDevelop engaging lessons that promote mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsMonitor student learning through formative and summative assessmentsUse student performance data to inform instruction and support continuous improvementCreate a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environmentImplement effective classroom management and behavioral supportsCollaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to improve instruction and student outcomesCommunicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress and learning goalsSupport school initiatives related to student achievement and college and career readinessParticipate in professional development and continuous learning opportunitiesMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirementsSupport school activities, supervision duties, and other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Valid Kansas teaching license with a secondary mathematics endorsement (or ability to obtain)Successful student teaching or teaching experience at the secondary levelStrong knowledge of high school mathematics content and instructional practicesExcellent communication, organization, and collaboration skillsCommitment to student learning and professional growth
Preferred
Experience teaching a range of high school mathematics courses (such as Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, or higher-level mathematics)Experience using data to inform instruction and support student achievementFamiliarity with technology tools that enhance mathematics instructionExperience collaborating in Professional Learning Communities
