Bus Aide

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Bus Aide. This part-time position is based at the Bus Barn and involves assisting in the safe and efficient transportation of students. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a positive and secure environment on the bus, helping students with boarding and disembarking, and providing support to the bus driver.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in boarding and disembarking the bus safely.
• Ensure that all students are seated and wearing seatbelts during transport.
• Monitor student behavior on the bus to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
• Communicate effectively with the bus driver regarding any concerns or issues that arise.
• Provide assistance to students with special needs as required.
• Perform routine safety checks of the bus before departure.
• Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bus interior.
• Report any incidents or accidents to the appropriate authorities promptly.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience working with children or in a similar role is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to lift and assist students as necessary.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate morning and afternoon shifts.
• Valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
