What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance Worker position at USCS LLC?
USCS LLC is hiring Grounds Maintenance Workers for a federal government contract at Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus, MS starting October 1, 2026.
What you'll do:
- Mow, trim, and edge improved grounds across a large military installation
- Operate commercial zero-turn mowers and hand equipment
- Maintain fence lines, drainage ditches, athletic fields, and vegetative beds
- Work as part of a crew under a Lead Foreman
- Document daily work with photos and logs
Requirements:
- Valid Mississippi driver's license
- Clean background (federal base access required — no felony convictions)
- US citizen or authorized to work in the US
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to Columbus AFB daily
- No experience required — will train the right person
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Peak season April through October
- Some off-season hours available November through March
- Monday through Friday, start time approximately 7:00 AM
Pay: $15.50/hour
Position is contingent on contract award — anticipated start date October 1, 2026. Pre-screening interviews begin immediately.
