Overview
The Materials Manager leads end-to-end materials management and procurement to ensure uninterrupted production, cost efficiency, and high-quality supply across US Conec operations. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and external suppliers to align material flow with business and customer demand.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute materials management strategies that optimize procurement, inventory, and storage across the supply chain
• Plan, forecast, and manage replenishment of raw materials and components to support production schedules and business growth
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess inventory, and material loss
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including negotiations on pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
• Monitor supplier quality performance and drive timely resolution of material and delivery issues
• Coordinate inbound transportation and logistics to ensure on-time delivery of materials and finished goods
• Create and manage procurement plans for raw materials and contract-manufactured components aligned to demand forecasts
• Negotiate and manage contracts with contract manufacturers, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery commitments
• Lead, coach, and develop the materials team to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and support company-wide operational excellence initiatives
Must Haves
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5 years of experience in materials management or supply chain operations supporting technical or custom-engineered products
• 2 years of people leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of supply chain fundamentals, inventory control, and production planning
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Nice to Haves
• Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related discipline
• Experience in precision component manufacturing or a high-technology industry
• Supply chain certification such as APICS CPIM or CSCP
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
