Adjunct Insructor, Inroduction to Advertising

The Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR 340 Introduction to Advertising. This undergraduate class introduces students to the fundamentals of today’s advertising profession and its role in marketing communications. Advertising is one of the four aspects of the marketing communications plan (Promotion, Public Relations and Performance round out the remaining three). Advertising will be the primary focus; however, the course also addresses all facets of the Marketing Mix and how they are integrated so that the brand speaks with one voice.

Introduction to Advertising is a practical course and the first class in USC’s Advertising Minor curriculum between the Annenberg and Marshall schools.

Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field. Previous teaching experience is desirable. For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.

The hourly range for this position is $37.87 – $46.96. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
