Overview

**This is 100% remote position. CHLA requires a primary residence in California prior to start date. Will require on-site visits for occasional meetings and/or events.**

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Senior Strategic Program Manager, Pediatric Health Education Institute, is responsible for managing and executing high-impact programs and operational initiatives that support the Institute's mission to strengthen and inspire the future pediatric healthcare workforce. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role plans, coordinates, and implements complex education, workforce development, and community engagement programs, ensuring alignment with Institute objectives and effective use of resources. Working closely with the Executive Director and key internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Strategic Program Manager translates strategic priorities into actionable program plans, facilitates cross-functional collaboration, manages partnerships, supports communications and engagement activities, and evaluates program outcomes.

The role also supports day-to-day program operations, budget administration, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Through effective program management and stakeholder engagement, this position contributes to expanding educational opportunities, strengthening workforce pathways, and advancing the Institute's impact at the local, national, and global levels.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Required:

  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, healthcare education, workforce development, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing complex programs or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience overseeing program operations, including budgeting, project management, and program evaluation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience leading education, workforce development, or training programs.
  • Experience in curriculum development or instructional design.
  • Experience working in a healthcare, academic medical center, hospital, or nonprofit environment.
  • Experience managing grants, sponsored programs, or external partnerships.
  • Experience supervising staff or project teams.

Education/Licensure/Certification: Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in public health, education, healthcare administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in public health, education, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Project management certifications, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).

Pay Scale Information

CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements. We provide a competitive compensation package that recognizes your experience, credentials, and education alongside a robust benefits program to meet your needs.

USD $117,936.00 - USD $157,248.00
