Overview

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Psychometrist is under the general supervision of a professional psychologist, the psychometrist will administer, score, and report on a variety of group and individual psychological tests; and perform other related duties as required. Incumbents typically administer standardized or experimental individual tests of cognition, language, social skills and motor skills; administer standards parent report measures; record individuals' responses in the manner prescribed for each test; score tests for which objective and noninterpretative scales are available; prepare reports on individuals' behavior during testing, especially behavior which may affect test results; summarize case records; keep records of testing supplies and equipment and order replacement; and maintain files of newly developed testing instruments. Incumbents may assist other professional staff in research.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

• 2 years of experience in administering, scoring, and interpreting a wide variety of psychological tests. (Graduate work in psychology may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.)
• Demonstrated training and expertise in psychological and developmental assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary research team and to engage in administrative duties including data entry, grant progress reporting, etc.
• Experience with Autism diagnostic assessments, including ADOS-2 and ADI-R (Preferred)
• Bilingual in English/Spanish (Preferred)

Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology required or other major providing training in tests and measurements. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)

Pay Scale Information

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
