Duties
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to oversee activity across the property and detect any suspicious behavior or security breaches
- Control access to the premises by verifying identities of visitors, contractors, and employees, ensuring only authorized individuals enter designated areas
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to identify potential security risks, hazards, or unauthorized activities
- Respond promptly to incidents or alarms by assessing situations calmly and taking appropriate action in accordance with established procedures
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing and deterring theft or vandalism through vigilant surveillance and engagement
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations to ensure accurate record-keeping for security reports
- Provide first aid or CPR when necessary, supporting emergency response efforts with confidence and professionalism
Qualifications
- Proven experience or training in security operations, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable
- Knowledge of surveillance equipment such as CCTV systems and experience with conflict management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Strong understanding of security protocols, loss prevention strategies, and emergency response procedures
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to remain alert during long shifts
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively while maintaining professionalism at all times
- Physical fitness to perform patrols and stand for extended periods
