Responsibilities
- Responsible for various accounting funds.
- Provides financial information to supervisor and others to ensure that monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports are issued on a timely basis.
- Analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for variances and reports findings to their supervisor and others.
- Assist with reviewing GASB guidance and applying updates to financial statements as needed.
- Manage month-end and year-end close.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Assist with departmental budgeting.
- Support faculty compensation plans & clinical revenue.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and University policies.
- Partner with department leadership (physicians, administrators, etc.).
- Supervise accounting staff.
- Train and mentor team members.
- Improve workflows and internal controls.
- Approves certain payment requisitions and direct pay requests for the Controller.
- Ensures that assigned accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Assist all accountants and departments as needed.
- Prepares schedules for external auditors.
- Assist the Controller with special projects and initiatives as they arise.
- Uses the calculator and personal computer in all of the above duties.
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting and 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience. Required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
