Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and five years of revenue cycle management or directly related experience. Oncology and G4 Centricity experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the USA Health Chief Revenue Officer:
- Manage day to day processes of the Financial Counselors and Navigators at MCI.
- Communicative with patients and their representatives clearly and effectively regarding billing/coding/collect1on processes.
- Review charge capture processes for oncology billing systems.
- Accountable for billing denials and the education and effective communication back to staff and providers on improvement.
- Work in conjunction with Acute and Ambulatory billing management to review payor contracts .and finalized to the best possible financial result for the USA Health System.
- Manage insurance authorization process for oncology services.
- Act as the permanent USA employee with authority to be the signatory for documents as required by USA policy.
- Develop reporting to assist 1n review of Oncology Business Services to output to ensure optimization of the current and future billing systems
- Develop documentation of system policies, procedures and functionality in G4 as it relates to the Oncology Billing Services.
- Prepare and monitor the annual department budget.
- The Director of Oncology Business Services professional responsibility and Standards compliance:
- Abides by and enforces all compliance requirement and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values. Determines, translates, and implements relevant standards and promotes departmental compliance.
- Adheres to hospital policies, including confidentiality.
- Requires regular and prompt attendance.
- Works the assigned schedule, including overtime and call as required.
- Adheres to Infection Control and Safety standards.
- Maintains standards of practice consistent with current research findings.
- The Director of Oncology Business Services HR Development/patient care/department responsibilities
- Requires minimal supervision to safely perform patient care/essential functions.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics when:
- Moving, positioning, and transferring patients without assistance or with assistance when needed for patient safety.
- Moving equipment/supplies that is necessary to perform essential functions.
- Facilitates staff participation in in-service and educational offerings to learn new skills and for continued development.
- Assures personnel are competent to carry out their essential functions and that competency skills are completed annually.
- Monitors work performance of staff.
- Completes staff evaluations in a timely manner according to policy.
- Develops a plan of action for employees who are below satisfactory in their evaluation and completes re-evaluation in appropriate time frame.
- Essential Job Functions:
- Participates in strategic planning activities for the department and institution.
- Develops a strategic plan for HIPAA compliance that supports the overall institutional plan.
- Translates the department or institution strategic plan to staff, insuring support of the plan, and modifying the plan in response to changing internal and external factors.
- The Director of Oncology Business Services Communication/Collaborative Relationships:
- Accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict.
- Cooperates, helps others, and improves the performance of the unit.
- Completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements.
- Utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job.
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards.
- Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships among disciplines/departments to assure effective delivery of services to support quality patient care.
- Encourages and participates in planning and program development to facilitate the effective delivery of services that support quality patient care
- Communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families and healthcare team in person and via all forms of communication.
- Responds to direct requests timely vial all forms of communication.
- Assists Administration in answering Inquires pertaining to patient's oncology billing.
- Assists administrative staff with billing replications for new services.
- Monitors changes in billing and reimbursement requirement of governmental and private health insurance and makes recommendation for modifications required to meet these changes.
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
