POSITION SUMMARY: DuBois Chemicals is looking to hire a high-performing Application Scientist to provide technical service and support for our surface finishing product lines. Responsible for assisting sales and service teams to retain customer accounts and generate new business as the technical subject matter expert. Demonstrate the company’s core competencies of communication, customer focus, innovation, integrity & ethics, learn & safety, and passion to succeed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical support/service to our customers and sales/service team for surface finishing product lines. Accountable for customer technical interface, account acquisition, account retention, collaboration with Research & Development (R&D) for product development and technical training. Collaborate with regional sales and service teams to accelerate the sales cycle as well as provide expert technical expertise for account retention. Provide training, troubleshooting and start up assistance to customers. Plan, organize and execute projects designed to garner new business opportunities. Effectively offer professional and timely communication to both customers and field sales. Collaborate with R&D and Marketing teams to identify products and systems to satisfy customer needs, including training materials. Participate in trade shows or be requested to provide training to customers/prospects on products and applications. Provide data for material compatibility, develop test methods, or work with R&D or Analytical teams to provide the same. Travel to customer sites to provide technical support. Maintain a constant focus on safe work and driving habits. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years' experience in a laboratory environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong time management skills with attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint or database management software Ability to travel up to 40% including some overnight travel.
