Key Responsibilities
- Assist with PLC programming, testing, and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and P&IDs.
- Support modifications to existing Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 (ControlLogix and CompactLogix) programs.
- Participate in panel testing, heat testing, and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
- Perform I/O checkout and verify field devices during startup and commissioning.
- Assist with troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and electrical control systems.
- Update electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical as needed.
- Document programming changes, test results, and project revisions.
- Work closely with engineering, field service, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- 0–3 years of experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, or a related field.
- Recent graduates with relevant coursework, internships, or hands-on project experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of PLC programming principles and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation platforms is preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for startup and commissioning activities.
- Internship, co-op, or laboratory experience with PLCs or industrial automation.
- Exposure to Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 or RSLogix software.
- Familiarity with Red Lion HMIs and Crimson software.
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP or Modbus.
- Understanding of industrial instrumentation, motors, valves, and process control systems.
- Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical drafting software.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices.
