Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at a boutique THC & Kava Café. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for staff leadership, compliance oversight, inventory control, and ensuring a consistently excellent guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day café operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Supervise, train, and schedule café staff
- Ensure compliance with all applicable THC, hemp, kava, and local regulations
- Enforce age verification and responsible service policies
- Maintain operational SOPs, logs, and documentation
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and vendor coordination
- Monitor POS operations, cash handling, and daily reconciliation
- Handle customer service issues and maintain a welcoming environment
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards
- Support promotions, events, and community engagement
Qualifications
- 3 years of management experience in hospitality, café, bar, or retail
- Experience working in regulated environments (THC, hemp, alcohol, or similar) preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic reporting
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Preferred Experience
- Kava bar, dispensary, wellness café, or specialty beverage experience
- Knowledge of Illinois THC/hemp regulations
- Experience training and managing teams
- Background in inventory and cost control
