Vehicle Test System Technician

About this position We currently have exciting opportunities for Vehicle Systems Technicians to support vehicle builds in our Advanced Development organization, located at our Westfield Engineering Laboratory in Westfield, IN. Responsibilities and Duties • Support internal and external Advanced Development Engineering vehicle builds and checkout prior to delivery • Interface closely with other competencies to ensure requirements are properly provided and that the vehicle level requirements developed are properly implemented • Follow direction from Vehicle Systems Engineers • Read engineering vehicle mechanization drawings • Disassemble vehicle interior exterior • Assemble component racks including computers, networking, and electronic instrumentation • Build vehicle harnesses to specifications • Self-motivated, well organized, flexible, works well with complex issues • Coordinate with others to ensure Systems deliverables are completed on time per project schedules, have proper content and meet both internal and customer quality standards • Identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement and implement appropriate initiatives • Escalate execution issues, as needed Basic Qualifications • 3 years of professional experience in Automotive Industry • 1 years of experience with custom vehicle modifications • Experience working on vehicles in a service dealership / repair facility. • Skilled in the use of common mechanical and electrical tools (multimeters and diagnostics equipment) • Experience with hand soldiering equipment • Knowledge of basic DC Electrical Concepts • Ability to comprehend schematics and vehicle service information • Current driver’s license Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications) • Associates degree in Engineering or related technical field • Knowledge of driver assistance systems (radar and / or camera technology) • Knowledge of Active or Passive Safety Systems • Experience with hardware / software interfaces and communication protocols • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, Flex ray, Ethernet • Problem-solving skills • Ability to multi-task and work in team environment • Passionate about creating innovation cutting-edge automotive safety products Traits we seek • Curiously investigate everything – ability to solving problems analytically, creatively and collaboratively • Lead with confidence – thought leaders who empower those around them • Learn by doing – an entrepreneurial mindset that’s driven by hands-on experimentation • Embrace resilience – seeing every challenge as a learning opportunity and invitation to grow About Advanced Safety & User Experience Advanced Safety and User Experience encompasses our deep expertise in software, centralized computing platforms, advanced safety systems and automated driving focusing on five areas that are transforming mobility: Safety Electronics, Infotainment, User Experience, Autonomous Driving and Connectivity & Security.
