Your role at Clorox: The Assistant Plant Manager (APM) will serve on the Aberdeen leadership team and is responsible for the day-to-day management and output of the Operations Team (Molding, Process, Packaging). The APM works towards ensuring safety, quality, sustainability, customer service, cost, and production goals are attained. The APM is also responsible for developing and implementing long term plans to support business goals including growing capacity by continually improving key operational metrics. This individual works directly with the Plant Manager, Plant leadership team, and Operations Team as well as vendors/suppliers/contractors. The APM will collaborate across boundaries and barriers, working with other departments (internally / externally) to identify, develop, and complete business strategies and opportunities while also evaluating talent and developing the next generation of operations leadership. In this role, you will: Ensure an environment where safety is a core value. Work with Plant Leadership, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations to build, implement and constantly update safety requirements and programs for the facility. Drive and cultivate an empowered culture of opportunities that includes developing people (exempt and non-exempt), driving best-in-class safety performance and programs, leading change, continuous improvement, and reducing operating costs. Work proactively to nurture an environment of positivity, trust, open communication, and ownership. Coach organization on systems, structure, goals, and priorities. Model and hold the organization accountable for continuous improvement in all metrics and drive people centered production model to premier results. Advise a team of managers. Work to disseminate priorities for team and facility and implementation strategies for self and direct reports. Monitoring direct reports’ performance and the performance of their teams; setting expectations and holding teams Accountable. Continuously increase interpersonal capacity by mentoring and developing managers and associates to increase efficiency and reduce waste and loss. What we look for: 5 years of plant operations experience with growing levels of responsibility. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is HIGHLY preferred Proven ability to lead change, safety, and quality metrics Ability to develop and implement supply chain, equipment, efficiency, cost, and loss elimination master plans Experience in operational budget development and / or management Results oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate operations metrics Implementation of and mentoring others on TPM and Lean Methodologies Strong independent leadership skills Strong problem-solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis skills Proficiency in documentation and computing, including report generation, database maintenance, and resource tracking. Proven ability to mentor and develop talent at all levels of the organization Excellent organization and project management skills Strong written and verbal business interpersonal skills; able to effectively lead and influence across the organization, collaborating with corporate resources, plant associates, contractors, and temporary workers.
