The Branch Manager oversees daily store operations to achieve or surpass sales and margin goals. This involves promoting sales, delivering excellent customer service, managing inventory levels, and controlling expenses through purchase monitoring. Additionally, the Branch Manager ensures facility and staff adherence to safety and regulatory standards, guiding team members in providing efficient customer service, maintaining good housekeeping, and optimizing overall operational efficiency. The Branch Manager is responsible for all critical issues of the branch, including sales, sales growth, budgeting, gross margins, managing direct reports, and all operational expenses. Other key areas of responsibility include safety, customer service, inventory levels and resolution of personnel issues. Assist outside salespersons in preparing quotes, maintaining all required literature, providing customer follow-up, and gathering sales leads. Schedule and follow-up on deliveries, pre-call customers before scheduled deliveries. Control costs and monitor fiscal performance compared to budget. Maintain a store in a clean and orderly manner. Schedule staffing to ensure excellent customer service at all times. Support the outside sales team in servicing existing clients and obtaining new business. Ensure accurate daily processing of cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summaries, and bank deposits. Maintain the accuracy of back order reports, open order reports, and PO expedite reports. Establish and manage cylinder and hard goods inventory levels for the branch. Supervise the training of inside sales associates in product knowledge, company policies, processes, procedures, and safety, ensuring all associates can perform critical branch functions. Conduct periodic performance reviews of branch associates. Serve as a liaison between employees and management, offering performance advice and direction in coordination with Human Resources and senior management. ________________________ Are you a MATCH? Bachelor’s degree in a science, business or related degree field required. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales and distribution of industrial gases and welding supplies or similar industrial products; at least two (2) years of experience in a managerial capacity. Strong retail sales/customer service skills desired. Knowledge of welding applications and equipment is a plus. Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detail-oriented with good organizational skills. Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds while promoting a team player attitude.
