46819 Automation Service Technician (Open) Location: Davenport, IA - Filling How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Position Title: Automation Service Technician - Position can be located in Davenport, IA, Des Moines, IA, or Lakeville, MN - Monday-Friday, First Shift How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Automation Service Technician has many responsibilities in the area of CNC cutting, robotics, and hard automation (motion devices). This position will interact with Airgas Account Managers, Weld Process Specialists, engineers, branch and area leadership, as well as present quote and automation solutions to customer management and engineering. In particular, you will: - Services, repairs and does preventative maintenance on CNC devices. - Engineers and develops retrofit or rebuild solutions as required by project. - Communicates with OEMs to determine best method of repair, retrofit or replacement of customer equipment. - Communicates with Airgas National Support teams for assistance while working on large projects. - Communicates with customer management and engineering teams as required during onsite repair, retrofit or install of customer equipment. - Services customers equipment onsite at customer - Ensures all safety requirements of offsite project locations. - Provides guidance to branch administrators and service coordinators for proper customer support. - Proactively continues education process of new and existing technologies and processes to maintain expected level of professionalism and education. - Completes all service orders in a neat and timely fashion and obtains customer's signature on the order prior to leaving facility. - Communicates routinely with coordinator on job status, daily activities and condition of equipment. - Services, calibrates and repairs welding and cutting equipment. - The above job functions are illustrative of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position and are not intended to be all inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.Are you a MATCH? - Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics / Electrical Engineering, Technical school; work experience could supersede educational requirements. - Minimum of 2 years of prior related electrical and or electronics repair experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. - Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). - Must have general mechanical aptitude. - Ability to plan a logical approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment. - Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to read and comprehend manuals, electrical schematics, material safety data sheets and instructions - Self-starter; self-motivated; operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. - Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately. - Demonstrated dedication to product quality and customer satisfaction with ability to represent Airgas to our customers in a professional and courteous manner. - Ability to operate a forklift preferred. - Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations. - Frequent regional travel (greater than 50% of work time). - Must be willing to be away from home for customer service calls and certification schools approximately 10% of the time (estimate 2 days per month) - Must have reliable, appropriate transportation and valid US driver's license. - Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.
