Operations Technician/Plant Operator

Do you enjoy working in a plant environment? We are seeking an Operations Technician to join our operations team in Chandler, AZ plant. Our Chandler facility has 6 ASU plants, 2 liquefiers, and a Nitrogen pipeline delivery system. Your responsibilities include the day-to-day safe operation of the plants and the site’s systems/equipment along with aligning with all EH&S standards to achieve a zero (0) lost time injury record within their area of responsibility, and to perform work duties in accordance with Quality Systems Manual procedures, safety policies and site-specific requirements. The plant operator will be responsible for the day-to-day safe operation of the facility’s operating equipment and production processes in compliance with all EH&S standards. While achieving a zero (0) lost time injury record, perform work duties in accordance with company quality systems, safety policies and site-specific procedures. You will also be responsible for monitoring daily production processes to ensure reliability, efficiency and productivity goals are met. Affordable Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (day 1 of employment) 401k with 100% vested company core and match Paid Vacation, holidays sick time Paid Parental leave (Up to 8 weeks) Backup Child and Adult Care benefit Adoption assistance Flexible spending accounts (medical, dependent daycare) Life Insurance (AD&D- Paid for by Air Products), Supplemental AD&D Legal Plan & Identity theft coverage EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Many more supplemental benefits available Role and Responsibilities: Monitor and adjust plant process conditions using various valves and operating equipment Maintain and electronic logbook of operation activities Fixing plant process upsets using various indicators and DCS trends Calibrate/Operate multiple process and pipeline analyzers Handle daily routines to include water treatment, equipment inspection, and log sheet readings Perform preventative maintenance tasks Maintain online training program requirements Issue safety work permits and perform lock out / tag out of various process equipment Fill trailers and support the product load line Inspect all work areas on a continuous basis for any mechanical problems, safety hazards and unusual operation conditions. Keep work and supply areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb ladders, steps, lift up to 50 lbs. and work in all weather conditions Be available during mandatory call-in requirements as needed This is a safety sensitive position Education and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required 2 years of operations experience and/or 2-year degree in Process Technology Military experience a plus Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings a plus Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems Work Hours & Benefits: Work Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends Must be able to work on-call rotations This is a safety sensitive role Join Air Products, where we proudly value the skills, dedication, and leadership that Veterans bring to the table.
