Your Role: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist As an HSE Specialist, you will be a key leader in driving site-wide Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a strong safety culture. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining HSE programs across diverse operations, from Bioprocessing to Warehousing. Your Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE procedures and programs in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including air, water, waste, and hazardous materials management. Coordinate and provide HSE training and awareness initiatives across all departments. Champion a Safety First, Quality Always mindset throughout the organization and stay current with industry standards. What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably cGMP, biotech, or pharmaceutical). Top 2 skills: Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements; Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or similar management systems. What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or equivalent. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication with leadership and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and drive change across cross-functional teams. Experience managing waste disposal, recycling, and pollution prevention programs. Additional Information: Travel: Minimal (estimated 5-10% annually), primarily to other Elanco sites within the U.S. Location: Onsite role based in Elwood, KS. Occasional evening and weekend support may be required.
