We are a family-owned business that supplies cutting tools, abrasives, and other manufacturing supplies to aerospace, defense and automotive customers. Founded in 1958, we are the largest cutting tool reconditioning firm in North America. This position will be based on-site at one of our major manufacturing customers' facilities.
If you have:
- Greater than 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry that uses cutting tools
- Knowledge of or experience with abrasive machining preferred
- Experience with Aerospace high temp alloys
- Understanding of Cutting Tool Geometry
- Understanding of different tooling material and coatings
- CNC programming experience
- Experience in cost saving project development
- Experience in process troubleshooting
- Project management experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend documented material, including tool drawings and technical information
- Experience with corrective action programs
- Experience interacting with and presenting to high-level customer contacts
- Strong analytic skills (Excel and data analysis)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have strong technical knowledge of CBN, Ceramic and Diamond cutting applications
- Strong mathematical skills
- Modeling or drawing skills a plus
- Knowledge of the aerospace market a plus
- Ability and desire to travel (75% time spent to travel)
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
A typical day may look like this:
- Introduction and demonstration of new products
- Application support of new products
- Improve existing processes and applications by reviewing objectives and specifications
- Recommend changes and make modifications to tooling, applications and processes of machining as needed
- Support of reconditioning program
- Troubleshooting of issues relating to product application
- Facilitation of manufacturer visits and the introduction of their products to the customer
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Sitting 30%,
- Standing 35%,
- Walking 35%,
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.; with occasional lifting up to 70 lbs. For material over 70 lbs., a team lift or mechanical lift is advised.
