We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Swiss Machine Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Swiss-style CNC machines while ensuring the production of high-quality precision components that meet customer specifications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience programming and operating manual and/or CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience programming Swiss-style CNC machines; Citizen machine experience preferred.
- Knowledge of CNC lathe controls, including multi-axis machine centers, with the ability to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and indicators.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, geometric tolerances, and dimensions.
- Thorough understanding of CNC programming segments and machining operations.
- Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used in precision machining.
- Understanding of ISO standards as they relate to manufacturing processes.
- Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for material and machining calculations.
- Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Daily Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various types of automatic and manual machining equipment.
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize Swiss CNC machining operations.
- Inspect and monitor product quality using measuring instruments and established inspection procedures.
- Manufacture parts to close tolerances and quality standards.
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining productivity and quality.
- Perform tool changes and offset adjustments as needed.
- Make minor program modifications to improve machining performance and part quality.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 100% of the work shift).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and work in a manufacturing environment.
