Job Description:
- The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user assistance for desktop systems, laptops, software applications, and IT peripherals. The role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, ensuring optimal system performance, and delivering excellent customer service to end users.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, software issues, operating system errors, and connectivity problems.
- Perform replacement and repair of faulty hardware components including memory, hard drives, power supplies, monitors, keyboards, and other peripherals.
- Install, configure, and support Windows operating systems and business applications.
- Ensure systems are updated with the latest security patches, antivirus definitions, and software releases.
- Provide first-level and second-level technical support to end users through phone, email, remote support, and onsite assistance.
- Respond to service requests and incidents within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Assist users with password resets, account unlocks, software installations, and system access issues.
- Deliver technical guidance and user training to improve productivity and effective use of IT systems.
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, network, and application-related issues.
- Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate support teams when required and track them through resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical issues and recommend preventive measures.
- Installs, changes, and repairs minor problems of personal computer hardware and software systems, and gives technical assistance and training to system users.
- Answers client's inquiries concerning systems operation; diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems; and recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
- Requires excellent working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals.
