Process Development Engineer

Duration: 12 months contract

Schedule: Standard Working Hours. Hybrid- 3-4 days onsite/ week

Job Description:

Seeking a Process Development Engineer to join the Drug Substance Technology Engineering team at our Thousand Oaks facility. Providing process engineering support for human therapeutic products in clinical development through commercial production, our mission is to translate developmental processes to commercial reality for patients through scientific expertise and engineering innovation.

• The Engineer will apply purification process engineering knowledge in support of technology transfer and clinical/commercial drug substance manufacturing in an innovative manufacturing suite using single-use technology.
• Will partner with manufacturing, quality, analytical, and bench scientists to support a highly dynamic manufacturing facility.
• Must have biotech background/experience, plus must have purification experience.
• Ideal Candidate: 2-4 years of relevant experience working in drug and animal cells. Strong process knowledge. Experience purifying cells (biologics purifications), drug substance GMP manufacturing.

Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:

• Drug substance biologics process development, pilot plant or manufacturing technical support
• Purification of monoclonal antibodies
• Experience in GMP environment (preferably in drug substance)

Basic Qualifications:

• Master degree OR
• Bachelor degree and 2 years of experience OR
• Associate degree and 6 years of experience OR
• High school diploma / GED and 8 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.S. in scientific or engineering discipline with 1‒3 years’ relevant professional experience or M.S. in scientific or engineering discipline with 0‒2 years’ relevant professional experience
• Familiarity with cGxP and experience in drug product / drug substance manufacturing or process development
• Knowledge of and hands-on experience with various drug product technologies
• Displays critical thinking, problem solving and independent research skills
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Excellent project management skills and ability to escalate relevant issues to project lead and line-management
• Strong cross functional team player with good communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with internal and external partners
• Good computer and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude
