Description:
Plant Controller is the financial backbone of a :$100M opto-mechanical defense and imaging manufacturing operation, owning the integrity of the plant's financials from the shop floor up.
This hands-on role demands deep expertise in internal controls (SOX, inventory, and revenue-cycle safeguards over a large, WIP-heavy balance sheet), cost accounting (standard costing, BOMs, work orders, and manufacturing variance analysis), and managerial accounting (product-line and program margin analytics, absorption, and the monthly plant P&L, inventory, and capital forecast).
Responsibilities:
The Controller partners directly with Operations to tie financial results to production performance separating real cost improvements from mix challenges assumptions unsupported by manufacturing data, and delivers audit-ready reporting and honest, decision-useful analysis to leadership.
Required Skills
7 years in cost and managerial accounting within a complex discrete-manufacturing environment, a demonstrated track record building and enforcing rigorous internal controls, strong ERP/MES fluency, and the instinct to raise the hard question before a variance becomes a surprise
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
