Job Description:
- The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.
- Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
- Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.
- Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.
Responsibilities:
- Job responsibilities include creating a safe work environment by putting safety first.
- Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
- Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
- Understanding design practices and work processes.
- Using all software applications used in design.
- Understanding industry and client design standards, supporting design standard and criteria development for the system.
- Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
- Estimating material for projects, transmitting construction packages, and supporting specifications.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of required CAD Experience.
- Required experience walking down, marking up, and updating mechanical drawings (P&IDs).
Skillsets:
- Skillsets and expertise required for this position include introductory engineering knowledge.
- Basic problem-solving skills, limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor.
- Basic discipline software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
Education:
- Accredited bachelor's degree.
