As we continue to scale, we are seeking a Director of Squash to lead our NYC coaching team and help shape the next era of Nicol programming for players of all ages and levels.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership role for a coach and operator who thrives at the intersection of player development, team leadership, and business performance. As Director of Squash, you will oversee coaching quality, program performance, KPI ownership, operations implementation, and day-to-day execution — ensuring Nicol’s on-court team delivers a consistent, high-energy, and growth-focused experience for all players.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the coaching team through regular 1:1s, meetings, and performance reviews that uphold Nicol’s culture and standards.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff on leadership development, operational alignment, and continuous improvement of coaching systems.
- Oversee all squash programming — lessons, clinics, junior pathways, adult development, leagues, and camps.
- Ensure coaching quality, communication, and session delivery meet Nicol standards and follow a structured progression from beginner to elite.
- Own performance metrics across lessons, program participation, player retention, and court utilization.
- Collaborate with Hospitality, Marketing, and Leadership to grow participation, strengthen beginner pathways, and launch new program initiatives.
- Optimize scheduling, coach coverage, and daily court operations for seamless execution.
- Implement coaching operating procedures while maintaining brand, communication, and facility standards.
- Foster a premium player and member experience in partnership with Hospitality and on-court staff.
- Model Nicol’s A-player mindset — proactive, accountable, curious, and resilient — while engaging in leadership development and representing Nicol externally.
- 7 years coaching experience with strong player development results
- 2 years in a leadership or head coach-level role
- Proven ability to manage KPIs and drive business outcomes
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership presence
- Business-savvy, detail-oriented, and team-first
- Preferred: National Squash Certification
